Drum Horse and King Rocky News

May 4-6, 2007.  The Kentucky Classic Gypsy Cob and Drum Horse Show in Lexington, KY.   

The beautiful Kentucky Horse Park was the site of the first Kentucky Classic, Gypsy Cob and Drum Horse Show.  Fifty Cobs and Drum Horses from around the country traveled to the Park to compete in over 40 classes ranging from in-hand to dressage, western, saddleseat and trail.  King Rocky and his 2 year old son, Little Rocky, made the trip from Maine.  We were thrilled to see several old friends and meet many new ones.  King Rocky proved himself a strong competitor and captured Reserve Champion stallion honors as well as the title of overall Grand Champion.  Little Rocky, in his first show outing, showed that he has what it takes to follow in his famous Dad's footsteps by capturing 1st place in Suitability for Dressage In-hand.  Show results for King Rocky and Little Rocky are as follows:

KING ROCKY:

  • High Point Performance Horse/Grand Champion - King Rocky
  • Drum Horse Stallion 3 and Over - 2nd place
  • Champion Drum Horse Stallion or Gelding - Reserve Champion
  • Gypsy Cob and Drum Horse Grooming and Conditioning - 1st place
  • Open Color Class - 3rd place
  • Open English or Western Trail - 1st place
  • Hunt Seat Adult Amateur - 1st place
  • Hunter Under Saddle Equitation - 1st place
  • Open Suitability for Dressage (under saddle) - 3rd place
  • Open Dressage Introductory Test A - 3rd place
  • Gypsy and Drum Western Pleasure - 2nd place
  • Gypsy and Drum Open Obstacle Course - 1st place
  • Gypsy and Drum Bareback Pleasure - 1st place
  • Gypsy and Drum Saddle Seat - 2nd place

LITTLE ROCKY:

  • Drum Horse Geldings In-hand, all ages - 2nd place
  • In-hand Obstacle - 4th place
  • Suitability for Dressage In-hand - 1st place
